DURHAM, N.C. - The fifth-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team began the 2012 season with a program single-game goals record in its 25-3 victory over Bucknell Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium.

BOSTON, Mass. (February 2, 2012) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) announced Thursday the television schedule for the 2012 season. The network will air live 14 nationally televised games.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy was voted the 2012 preseason favorite to win a third straight Patriot League title, the league office announced Thursday. Navy was the unanimous choice by the opposing coaches and sports information directors, garnering the maximum 12 possible votes.

The Northwestern Wildcats, the reigning national champions, start the 2012 season sitting in the top spot as the IWLCA released the preseason poll. Maryland, the 2011 runners-up, start in second while 2011 semifinalist North Carolina comes in at third.

Northeast-10 rivals Adelphi and LeMoyne begin the 2012 season tied for the top spot in the preseason rankings as released by the IWLCA. The two New York schools both advanced to the NCAA semifinals in 2011 and met three times in 2011 with the Panthers winning each time and handing the Dolphins their only three losses of the campaign.

The Gettysburg Bullets, the reigning national champions, open the 2012 season where they left off from 2011-on top of the rankings. The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tied the record it set last year, as eight schools appear in the top-20.

Seniors Nicholas Beattie (A), Max Pfeifer (M) and Kevin Randall (D) will serve as team captains for the Fighting Irish during the 2012 campaign. All three are first-time captains for Notre Dame.
